About This Tour
Venture into the heart of the Panama Canal watershed for an unforgettable wildlife encounter. Gatún Lake, formed by the construction of the Canal, is now a lush tropical ecosystem home to three species of wild monkeys, sloths, caimans, tropical birds, and more.
We begin with a scenic boat ride across Lake Gatun, where you will cruise alongside massive cargo ships transiting the Canal. From there, we explore the hidden coves of the Monkey Islands to safely spot wild capuchins, howler monkeys, tamarins, and sloths in their natural habitat.
Following our incredible boat excursion, we will visit the beautiful Gamboa Rainforest Resort to freshen up and take in panoramic views of the Chagres River.
